Anatoly Belkin. High Water
A special project exploring the art of the Soviet nonconformists, its legacy, impact, and lasting resonance, featuring two full-length films.
The five-act mini-series «The Time of The Uncommon» is a long, contemplative walk through the Russian Museum with artist Anatoliy Belkin and critic Aleksandr Borovskiy, set against Natalia Opaleva's exhibition «Parallel Universes. From Abstraction to Artifact.» It weaves together dialogues of eyewitnesses and collaborators, a tangible link between past and present, and personal memories, creating a vivid sense of presence, as if one were not just at the show, but in the legendary artists' studios.
In the docudrama «High Water», the protagonist is Anatoliy Belkin himself, a living bridge between eras. The film is a portrait of a man in motion, a retrospective of a remarkable life, a film essay, a historical chronicle, and an epic of the personal.
